What is AdBlue®

AdBlue® is a 32,5% solution of high-purity urea, used in Euro 4 and 5 vehicles' additional tanks. That permit to reduce emissions of oxides of nitrogen (NOx) from the exhaust of diesel vehicles, by SCR technology (selective catalytic reduction); about the 85% of thes emissions are converted by catalytic reaction into benign nitrogen gas and water, not dangerous for nature.

The costant quality of AdBlue® is assured by, first, the specifications DIN 70070 and DIN 70071; now replaced by new ISO standards:

The quantity of AdBlue® used in catalyzation process is about 5% of used fuel. AdBlue® is non-toxic and is safe to handle; however it can be corrosive for some materials, then must be stored and transported with the correct materials.
